Blogs are our modern-day journals. Have you ever had the opportunity to read your mom or dad's journal from when they were younger or read the diary of total stranger for a history or English class? They give us a picture of what it is like to be another person in another place and time. Our blogs can do the same thing, but only if we take the time and make sure they will be available for those who come after us. Let's face it, computers are awesome but a piece of paper in your hand is much more reliable.
Blogs also serve other purposes. I know that I have certain blogs that I love to read but usually don't have the time to check up on everyday. Most of the time I don't even have a computer in front of me. In this case, I would love to have a hard copy of that person's blog to read on the train or between classes. Speaking of classes, many times detailed, first-hand accounts are required for certain papers and projects. What better way to get those accounts than from a blog of some who is actually there, say a soldier in the Iraqi war or carnactic vocalist in India. The possibilities for the uses of blogs are endless and that is why they have become so popular.
So, my point is, don't let all that valuable information go to waste. Leave that journal for your children to read many years from now, get a laugh from that hilarious blogger or use that first-person experience in your history term paper (and get an "A").
